Decided to take the truck out for a blast to Awesomefest.....knew a few people that we going and thought it would be good fun. It was like driving a waterbed down the M1 in the truck....great fun though as you cant help but do anything but cruise in it. Made it there around lunchtime and there were loads of cars flying sideways down the Mallory Park track. Got some trade tickets so parked in the paddock right next to the dance tent...this was not one of my best idea's! Headed over to see Julian who owns Garage D and he straight away offered to take me round the track.....woweeeeeee it was so good and didnt stop smiling the whole time...def got the drifting bug now and looking out for a car to practice in. Was surprised at the lack of girls doing it so feel an all girl PistolPink racing team coming on!!
Well the night turned into complete carnage.... the dance tent rocked! We had so much fun (from what I can remember). After the dance tent packed in I just remember tons of people coming back to the truck....reckon there must have been about 30 people in and out through the course of the night...people just kept coming past and knocking on the doors! It was like a mobile chillout den. Waking up the next morning wasnt so clever though as for some reason I ended up all crunched up in the front and randoms in the back!! Great weekend though and definitely will go again next year
After meeting with a few different companies I have found the Company I want to get involved with turning PistolPink Mk2 into something fab. My first job is to sort the soundsystem and electrics out and met with a couple of companies but they had as much vision as a pineapple and they had no clue about where I was coming from.......been to a really cool place tonight and the guys were all over it and were so up for getting involved......a bit of enthusiasm goes a long way!!! Looking forward to getting a spanking soundsystem in there next week and then we are going to have a chat about all the 'extra's......things are slowly starting to come together.......
Been scratching my head as to what to do the Gumball 2012 in but laid in bed and had a lightbulb appear above my head! I knew exactly what I wanted and how it was going to look. Decided as the 2012 rally is in the USA then no point in taking a Supercar....every time I get behind the wheel, my foot becomes made of lead! Next year is going to be more about having fun and cruising...The Dirty Sanchez boys proved this on the 2011 rally as for some weird reason it didnt matter how many times we overtook them...they always were in front??????? This is a really cool project to be working on and having lots of fun with it already. Everyone keeps asking me what I am doing it in but I think half the fun is not knowing right? I am going to be updating this page about it's progress over the coming weeks and will start posting pictures up too. Just want to make sure I can get all this done in the time I have and then all will be revealed.........................
Such a beautiful day so decided to take PistolPink for a blast to Goodwood for the Festival of Speed.....had an amazing day as the sun was shining and felt like the hottest day of the year. Had such a good blast down there and had loads of people taking pictures of the car when we arrived. Some great car stands there and it was really cool to look around the cars....also there were some really good stalls there and ended up chatting to some eccentric who had a vintage stall....he had 'When you go down to the Wood today' blaring out on his gramophone. I bought some fab googles and a really lovely Dick Dastardly coat to go with my goggles! Ended up on the Veuve Cliquot stand where we had a few and then collapsed in a field by the Hill Climb and passed out in the sun for a few hours. Great day and drove past this couple who were guarding their Garden Gnomes!!!.....only in England!
Got to the Hotel soooooooo late....was mentally, physically and emotionally battered but felt great all at the same time! Didnt have a lot of strength left so managed to find a porters trolley and we put our cases, a bunch of flowers and a bottle of vodka on there and just hung on to the trolley. We were drinking neat vodka with the Dudesons in reception until we got checked in. I literally hung on to the trolley until getting to the room and then we got changed and off to the wrap party! Stopped by at the Hilton on the way and met an Armani model who worked there as well as modelling. Never met a male Armani model before but being as it was Gumball nothing really surprised me anymore. It must have been about 1am before getting to Reina (the club) then just proceeded to let our hair down. The club was amazing, it was a Wednesday night in Istanbul and the place was rocking! We had such a good time but it is all a bit hazy..............somehow we got back to the Hotel and collapsed!
This leg was the best of the whole rally...had an amazing lady as a co driver and we had a great journey....14 hours of pure fun!! The roads through Bulgaria were mad!! We got completely lost and ended up losing everyone else, had no working sat nav and ended up in the middle of nowhere!! We ended up in a tiny Bulgarian village after going over an Indiana Jones style bridge and ended up driving on tracks rather than a road. We saw some dudes with their donkeys and carts and stopped and asked them the way to Istanbul, dont think a pink Ferrari had ever been through their village and we stopped for photo's and gave them cigarettes and they were so happy! We had to stop and buy a map but couldnt even tell if it was upside down or not! The roads were crazy...a horse came out of nowhere and we nearly hit it...there were dead dogs lying on the road and allsorts....it was certainly different to the roads we had been on so far. I have no idea how we got back on the right track but we did. The Bulgarian police were amazing...they just kept waving us on to go faster! That was a first!! Doesnt seem to happen in England?? We reached some incredible speeds on those roads and just seemed to be overtaking everything! We made it to the Turkish border and there were loads of Gumballers there and more arrived, it seemed pretty much most of the Gumball cars were there. At this point we thought we were going to get to Istanbul around 8pm which meant plenty of time to party but then we all got held up at the border for nearly 3 hours! After a real nightmare getting through, we floored it to Istanbul and made it to the hotel....I couldnt believe it, it was a real head boggle arriving.......It was nuts thinking after everything we had been through we had completed the Gumball in 1 piece!!!!
Well, we arrived in Belgrade and ended up driving round and round and round until finally got to the Hotel. It was so sad to see little children begging at the side of the road for bits of change....their sweet little faces made me feel sad that these kids had to do this to get by.....eventually arrived at Hotel Continental and Buttsy pulled up and did some mad doughnuts right outside the hotel and the crowd went mental....was really cool. Afterwards it looked like a UFO had been there with the big black rings it created. Some people were moaning about the Hotel as it wasnt as nice as the others we had stayed in but it was probably one of the best ones in Belgrade.....people seem to forget what that place has been through over the years and I just felt very lucky to be there. It was like stepping back in time but surely thats part of the adventure?? Quite a few people headed off to the boat party but I just spent the night in the bar having a semi chilled one as I knew that I had a 14 hour drive in front of me to Istanbul, and so far managed to survive on minimal sleep! Now this is the part of the Gumball where it really got interesting....there is a reason why I have not even mentioned my co driver so far.....from the minute he got in the car at Paris he turned into my worst nightmare! I have never had to endure a journey with someone so negative about everything, all they did was moan and be aggressive so I totally switched off to it and drove along the whole route in my own happy little bubble. I went to bed at 1.30am and he came to the room at 5am and started shouting at me and telling me we had to leave, there was no way I was going to drive through Serbia as the lone ranger as I wanted to leave at 8am with all of the other Gumballers. Basically the upshot was I said I didnt want to do the final leg with him so he either got in with someone else or flew home. I picked up my stuff walked out and asked about in reception to see if I could get another co driver. By pure chance I met a great girl called Courtney and we met, hit it off and both knew the ride to Istanbul was going to be a complete blast!!

Woweeeee 1st time actually managed breakfast!!....every other day literally fell out of the hotel into the car and off. Being as poker night was pretty sane, managed to sleep for at least 4 hours and then made it into the breakfast room....time to hop on a water taxi to get back to the car park where all the Gumball cars were. Well being as this was the 1st night actually had a proper sleep somehow ended up leaving my suitcase on the side of the road and driving off....5 minutes down the road and it hit me! Rushed back and thank god it was still there....oooops obviously the sleep didnt do me any good at all. This time drove with the R8, DB9 and the Charming Baker Bentley. The checkpoint was Zagreb.....We stopped there for lunch and again there were so many people waiting for us...beautiful day as well. Literally 5 minutes after leaving there for Belgrade ended up getting busted for going through a red light. The R8 was the only car that knew where it was going and the lights changed...I bolted them followed by the Bentley...I cut it so fine and thought I was going to get hit by an oncoming tram so god knows how the Bentley made it through too. Then the blue lights started flashing. It was Robocop on a bike!!!!...Tried to talk my way out of it by saying I was lost but he wasnt having any of it...he told me the fine was 2000 Kunas and I had NO idea what a Kuna was worth, just knew I had to draw 2000 of them out of the bank before he would give me my passport back! Anyway....the R8 waited for us up ahead and then we were all on our merry way to Belgrade.....
This time arrive at the Stucky Hilton in Venice...again another lovely hotel. So tonight was more chilled. It was the Betsafe Poker Tournament. I was really looking forward to this...only played poker once properly before so played it a few times on an iphone app when still in the UK so I could remember how to play it! The setting was amazing...it was a beautiful evening and on a roof terrace....quite a lot of people played and I was the only girl playing it. Obviously got the usual comments from guys who were taking the piss at me playing but I did really well and ended up on the last tables and did better than they did!....then went all in and was out. Karsten from Team Zulu won and it and the prize was a fab silver Gumball bracelet....lovely chilled night and think I actually managed a whole 4 hours sleep...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz's
Again....1 hour sleep and off!! This time to Venice with a checkpoint for lunch. Made a fatal mistake leaving the Fairmont...turned the wrong way to everyone else??? No sat nav either.....really not quite sure what happened on this leg but got totally lost...had no clue where I was going!! I was in touch with other Gumballers via phone and twitter but didnt know where the hell I was heading! Somehow ended up screaming up behind a Gumball GT3 RS....totally random as was in the middle of nowhere.....we pulled into a garage and turns out he had no idea where he was going too....decided to give the checkpoint a miss as heard that other Gumballers were heading off from the checkpoint anyway. I followed the Porsche and after a while it started smoking, he kept having to stop and check the coolant but after a while the car looked like it had had enough. Poor guy had to call a recovery truck and really nothing else that could be done so headed off into oblivion still not really knowing where I was going....just kept heading for signs to Italy! Floored it all the way there and eventually started to see other Gumball cars so then stuck with them.....ended up driving with the Sheik again so knew he would know where to go. Managed to get there pulled into the car park and then hopped on a water taxi to the hotel......never been to Venice before, it was just like I imagined it would be though.......beautiful.
